Delighted to be in Kazakhstan at the IBA Europe Caucasus-Asia Forum 2018 where co-panellists Dmitry Marenkov, Bernhard F. Meyer, Maidan Suleimenov and myself, together with our moderator Christer Söderlund shared our views on How to become an arbitrator. The AIAC appoints arbitrators in administered proceedings and we are also the default appointing authority under the Malaysian Arbitration Act. Having sat as arbitrator in over 200 arbitrations, I was pleased to share my own experience and our practice at the AIAC.
