05 Jul Launch of Design and Build Contracts

Less than a year ago, the AIAC, then known as the KLRCA, launched its first suite of Standard Form of Building Contracts, becoming the first arbitral institution in the world to do so. Having relaunched the SFC under the AIAC brand early 2018, we’ve had a 84% increase in global visitors to our SFC digital portal resulting in over 8000 free downloads. Building on that success and momentum, we launched our Design & Build Contracts yesterday in front of capacity crowds in AIAC’s Auditorium and Seminar Room (via live feed). The contracts can be used in Malaysia & internationally, with a special focus on developing jurisdictions in Asia and Africa.  Honoured to have had Justice Dato’ Lee Swee Seng deliver a Special Address and launch the D&B Contracts. Much gratitude also goes out to the Expert Advisory Committee comprising of distinguished and experienced arbitrators, adjudicators, engineers, architects & quantity surveyors for the hard work in producing these Contracts.
